Russia may abandon construction of the Northern Siberian Railway

Russian authorities may ditch the construction of the Northern Siberian Railway (NSR) due to its huge cost and complex geological conditions. The proposal to suspend the project was recently submitted to President Putin by Russia’s Deputy Prime Minister Vitaly Savelyev.
