Middle Rhine alternative railway: ‘they don’t want to build it’

The study published by the German Ministry of Transport (BMDV) for an alternative route dedicated to freight trains in the Middle Rhine Valley is still turning heads in Germany as well as the rest of Europe. RailFreight.com had a chat with Willi Pusch, Chairman of the Citizens’ Initiative in the Middle Rhine Valley against environmental damage caused by the railways. “The study was commissioned so that they wouldn’t have to build a new railway,”Pusch argued.
