CT Directive revision: ‘Not a panacea, but work in progress’

The EU Commission has unveiled its combined transport Directive revision proposal, closing the cycle it opened in July when publishing the proposals of the Greening Freight Transport Package (GFTP). The sentiment following the announcement is “generally positive”, according to Akos Ersek, chief policy advisor at UIRR. However, as he remarked, it is not a “panacea that will fix everything” but a “work in progress which will require interim solutions” to boost European combined transport and avert the ongoing crisis.
