Hundreds of trains to be rerouted due to two-week railway closure in Northern Italy

Starting tomorrow, 12 July 2024, the railway connecting Udine and Tarvisio, in northeastern Italy, will be closed for 15 days, until 27 July 2024. This will be quite the thorn in the side for various rail freight companies relying on the Tarvisio-Villach border crossing between Italy and Austria. For example, Austrian Rail Cargo Group (RCG) will have to reroute over 200 trains
