Railway engineers have successfully concluded the crucial phase of connecting a major new rail freight interchange to the West Coast Main Line at Northampton. The pivotal track installation effort was imperative in establishing a new link to the Strategic Rail Freight Interchange (SRFI) at SEGRO Logistics Park Northampton. The logistics park, presently in the developmental phase, is slated for operational readiness next year. The logistics park will provide five million square feet (465,000 square meters) of new warehouse space. It is expected by the developers to provide employment for up to 7,000 individuals.
