Italy’s FS Logistix to upgrade 60 locomotives with ERTMS

The Italian state-owned railway holding Ferrovie dello Stato (FS) has announced a 70-million-euro investment to equip around 450 trains and locomotives with the European Rail Transport Management System (ERTMS). Regarding the freight locomotive fleet, 60 units will be equipped, for an investment of 10 million euros, FS’ rail freight arm FS Logistix said.
