The Railways Bill 2025 is the legislation that will establish Great British Railways, the single oversight body for the network in Britain. The Rail Freight Group has reiterated its call for members of parliament to consider the needs of freight in their deliberations. Today (9 December), it receives its second of three formal readings in the House of Commons. It’s part of the parliamentary process that formally adopts the Bill as law. An identical procedure is followed in the upper House (Lords).
